How to Use the Award Certificate Maker
This maker builds printable award certificates for your students on a landscape page. Pick one of 14 awards, such as Star Reader, Kindness Award or End of Year Award, or choose Custom and type your own title. Add a short "for" line from the ideas or in your own words. Make one certificate, or one for every name on your class list or on a separate custom list, with a date, a teacher signature line and an optional principal line. Choose from six designs drawn with simple shapes, seven color themes and US Letter or A4. Long names shrink to fit, and the preview shows exactly what prints.
Make award certificates in 3 steps
Choose the award. Pick an award such as Math Whiz or Most Improved, or choose Custom and type a title. Click one of the Ideas for this award to fill in the "for" line, type your own, or leave it blank for no line.
Add names and details. Under Who gets a certificate, pick One student, Class list or Custom list. Add a school or class name, choose Today, Pick a date or Blank line for the date, and type the teacher name. Turn on Principal signature line if you need a second signature.
Print or celebrate. Pick a design, colors, lettering and paper size, then press Download PDF for one certificate per page. Press Classroom Presentation Mode to show a certificate on the board, use Previous and Next to move between students, and press Celebrate for confetti.
Ways to use the Award Certificate Maker in class
Celebrate on the big screen
Open Classroom Presentation Mode during a class meeting to show each certificate full screen. Press Next or the right arrow key to move to the next student. With Confetti and Sound on, each certificate opens with confetti and a short fanfare, and Celebrate plays it again.
End-of-year awards for the whole class
Pick End of Year Award, choose Class list and download one PDF with a page for every student. The "for" line is the same on every page of one PDF, so for different lines make a separate PDF with a Custom list of just those students.
Blank certificates to fill in later
Choose One student, leave Student name empty and pick Blank line for the date. The PDF prints an empty name line and an empty date line, so you can keep a few ready to fill in by hand.
Printing without color
Choose the Black & White colors for a school printer without color ink. The Classic design is mostly thin lines, so it also uses little ink in any color.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make a certificate for every student at once?
Yes. Choose Class list to use the same class list as the Name Picker, Wheel of Names and the other name tools, or Custom list to paste only the students getting this award. The PDF has one certificate per page, one for each name, for up to 300 names.
Are student names uploaded anywhere?
No. The certificates are laid out and turned into a PDF in your browser. Names and settings are saved only in this browser on this device, and names are never sent to the site analytics.
What happens with a very long name or title?
The text shrinks to fit the page. A long name or title moves onto a second line if it still does not fit. Only text that is too long even at the smallest size is cut short with "...", and a note above the preview tells you which part.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Choose US Letter or A4 under Paper size (landscape). The certificate is always landscape and its layout adjusts to the page. Your paper size choice is shared with the other printables on the site.
Can I add the principal's name?
Turn on Principal signature line to add a third line next to Date and Teacher. Type the principal name to print it under the line, or leave it blank to print just the word Principal.
Can I write my own award title?
Yes. Choose Custom and type a title of up to 40 characters. If you leave the title blank, the certificate says Certificate of Achievement.
