A Big, Simple Scoreboard for Classroom Competitions
Keep score for review games, PE, spelling bees and table points without a whiteboard tally. Set up 2–8 teams, each with its own color and name, and every team card shows a giant score with −1 and +1 buttons plus your own quick-add amounts like +5 and +10. A crown marks the team in the lead, ties are shown as ties, and Show Winner ends the game with a confetti banner. Teams, names, colors and scores are saved in your browser, so the scoreboard is still there after a reload. It runs free in the browser on Chromebooks, iPads, laptops and interactive whiteboards — no account and no download.
Keep score in 3 steps
Set up your teams. Choose 2–8 teams and type a name for each one, or keep Team 1, Team 2 and so on. Tap a team’s color dot to switch it to a free color.
Pick your scoring buttons. Every team has −1 and +1. Type up to three amounts such as 5, 10 in the Quick-add buttons box to add +5 and +10 buttons, and turn on Minus buttons for quick amounts if wrong answers should cost points. Tap any score to type an exact number.
Project it and play. Open Classroom Presentation Mode for giant scores that fill the screen. Turn on the Round counter to track rounds with Next Round, then press Show Winner for the final standings and confetti.
Ways to use the Classroom Scoreboard
Whiteboard review rounds
Ask a question, give teams time to write an answer on mini whiteboards, then tap +1 for every team that got it right. Turn on the Round counter and press Next Round after each question so everyone can see how far into the review you are.
PE games and relays
Project the scoreboard in the gym or open it on a tablet, name the teams by color and add points as each relay or round finishes. Quick-add buttons like +5 or +10 make bigger point swings one tap, and Show Winner wraps up the period.
Table points all week
Give each table group a team and award points for teamwork, quick transitions or a clean table. Scores are saved in this browser, so the same totals are waiting the next morning. Turn on Sort by score to line the tables up from first place to last.
Spelling bees and math races
For a class spelling bee or a timed math race, use the number keys in Classroom Presentation Mode to pick a team and the + and − keys to change its score without touching the screen. Tap a score to type a fix if a point went to the wrong team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the scores still be there if I close the tab?
Yes. Team names, colors, scores, the round number and your settings are saved in this browser and come back when you reopen the page. They are not uploaded anywhere, so they don’t follow you to another device unless you move them with the Backup page.
Can I keep score with the keyboard?
Yes, in Classroom Presentation Mode. Press 1–8 to pick a team, + or the up arrow to add 1, − or the down arrow to take 1 away, and the left and right arrows to move between teams. With the Round counter on, N starts the next round. Esc exits.
What happens when teams are tied?
Every team that shares the top score gets the crown and a Tied label. Show Winner names all the tied teams, and if every team has the same score it announces a tie. The final standings give tied teams the same place.
Can a team’s score go below zero?
Yes. The −1 button and typed scores can go negative, which works for games where a wrong answer costs a point. Turn on Minus buttons for quick amounts to add −5 or −10 style buttons next to your quick-add amounts.
How do I start a new game with the same teams?
Press Reset Scores. Every team goes back to 0 and the round counter back to Round 1, while team names and colors stay. If you pressed it by mistake, the Undo button right below the scoreboard brings the old scores back.
Does it work on a smartboard or projector?
Yes. Classroom Presentation Mode fills the screen, hides the site’s ads and sizes the scores to fit 2–8 teams, with large buttons you can tap on an interactive whiteboard. Where the browser supports it, the screen is kept awake while you present.
