About the Subtraction Worksheets
This page opens on subtraction facts within 20, the grade 1 and 2 fluency goal, where students take away from numbers up to 20. The answer is never below zero, so every problem is one young students can actually solve. For kindergarten, switch to Within 10. For two-digit practice, choose Within 100 without regrouping, where every digit on the bottom is no bigger than the one above it, or with regrouping, where every problem needs borrowing from the tens. Each worksheet prints with an answer key on page 2, and New problems makes a different page whenever you need one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the answer be negative?
No. The bigger number always comes first, so every answer is zero or more.
How do I make borrowing practice?
Choose Within 100 with regrouping. Every problem then needs borrowing from the tens, like 52 − 27.
