How to Use the Reward Chart Maker

This tool makes two kinds of reward charts. Printable charts are sticker charts with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 spaces shaped like stars, circles, squares or hearts. Each one has a name line, an "I'm working on:" goal and a "When I fill my chart I get:" reward, typed in or left blank to write by hand. Print one chart, or one for every student on your class list, on a full page or two to a page, in six colors on US Letter or A4. The Class reward chart is for the board: the whole class fills a shared goal one space at a time, and the chart celebrates when it is full.

Make a reward chart in 3 steps

  1. Pick the spaces. Under Printable charts, choose how many Spaces on each chart and the Shape of each space: Stars, Circles, Squares or Hearts. Turn on Number the spaces to print a small number inside each one.

  2. Add the goal and reward. Type what the student is working on and what they get when the chart is full, or click one of the Goal ideas and Reward ideas. Leave either box blank to print a line to write on instead.

  3. Print or project. Choose One chart or One chart per student, 1 per page or 2 per page, a Color and the paper size, then press Download PDF. For a whole-class goal, switch to Class reward chart and press Add a star each time the class earns one.

Ways to use the Reward Chart Maker in class

  • One goal for one student

Pick a single goal, such as Finishing my work, and a reward you agreed on together. Print One chart with the student name and keep it on their desk or in a folder, adding a sticker each time they show the goal.

  • Charts for the whole class

Choose One chart per student and 2 per page to print a half-page chart for everyone on your class list. Leave the goal blank so each student can write their own goal on the line.

  • A shared class goal on the board

Switch to Class reward chart, set 20 spaces and type a Class reward such as Extra recess. Open Classroom Presentation Mode and press Add a star, Space or the right arrow key whenever the class earns one.

  • Low-ink copies

Choose Black & White and turn off Number the spaces for a simple outline chart that prints well on any school printer. Each space has room for a small sticker, a stamp or a colored-in mark.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I print a chart for every student at once?

Yes. Choose One chart per student to use the same class list as the Name Picker, Clip Chart and the other name tools. The PDF has one chart per student, on its own page or two to a page. With 2 per page and an odd number of names, the last half is a chart with a blank name line.

How does the Class reward chart work?

Set the Spaces to fill (3 to 50), a Chart title and a Class reward. Each press of Add a star fills the next space with a short pop and an optional chime. Undo takes back the last change and Reset clears the chart. When the last space is filled, the chart shows Goal reached! with your reward, confetti and a fanfare.

Is our progress saved?

Yes. The Class reward chart and your chart options are saved in this browser on this device, so the class can keep filling the same chart over several days. Nothing is uploaded, and student names are never sent to the site analytics.

Can I change the shape on the class chart?

Yes. The Class reward chart has its own Shape of each space and Color. The main button follows the shape, so it reads Add a star, Add a heart, Add a dot or Add a square.

What if I add a star by mistake?

Press Undo to take it back. In Classroom Presentation Mode the left arrow key does the same. After Reset, Undo brings the cleared spaces back.

Can I print on A4 paper?

Yes. Choose US Letter or A4 under Paper size. Charts print in portrait, and your paper size choice is shared with the other printables on the site.
