Print a coloring page in 3 steps

  1. Choose a picture. Pick a theme and tap a picture, or press Surprise me for a random one. To print a set, turn on Print several at once and tap each picture you want; the numbers on the cards show the printing order.

  2. Set up the page. Choose 1, 2 or 4 Pictures per page, a Line thickness (Bold is easiest for little hands), and US Letter or A4. Turn Name & Date lines, Picture name and Color by number on or off. The print preview shows exactly what prints.

  3. Print or color on the board. Press Download Printable PDF to print. Or press Color on the Board for a full-screen coloring page: pick a color, tap a space to fill it, and use Undo, the eraser or Start over. Save image downloads the colored picture as a PNG.

Ways to use the coloring pages in class

  • Early finisher folder

Turn on Print several at once, pick a few pictures from different themes and print them 2 to a page. Keep the copies in a folder for students who finish early or need a calm break.

  • Color by number for following directions

Print a Simple picture with Color by number on. Students match each number to the color key at the bottom, which is good practice for reading numbers and color words.

  • Seasonal and holiday pages

Print pumpkins and turkeys in the fall, snowmen and gift boxes in December, and lanterns and blossoms for Lunar New Year. The Mandalas & Patterns theme works any time of year as a quiet activity.

  • Whole-class coloring on the smartboard

Press Color on the Board and let students take turns choosing a color and tapping a space. Use the arrow keys to move to the next picture, and Save image to keep the finished picture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these coloring pages really free to print?

Yes. Every picture is free to print as many times as you like for your classroom, home or homeschool. There is no account and no watermark, only a small line with the site address at the bottom of the page.

Why are there no cartoon or movie characters?

Popular characters belong to the companies that own them, so we only print pictures we drew ourselves: dinosaurs, unicorns, fairy tale princesses, silly animal mash-ups, pop stars, robots, animals, vehicles, treats, holiday scenes and mandalas. They are free for you to print and use in class.

How does color by number work?

Turn on Color by number and each space gets a small number, with a color key at the bottom of the picture, such as 1 Red and 2 Yellow. Spaces too small for a number, eyes and black details are left without one. On the board, the Numbers button shows the same numbers and puts them on the colors.

Which line thickness should I choose?

Bold outlines are easiest for preschool and kindergarten, because crayon strokes that go over the edge still look neat. Medium suits most ages, and Thin gives older students more room for small details.

Can I print several pictures in one PDF?

Yes. Turn on Print several at once and tap up to 24 pictures. They print in the order you picked them, 1, 2 or 4 to a page, all in one PDF.

Is anything saved or uploaded?

Your picks and page settings are saved only in this browser on this device. On-screen coloring stays on the page until you leave it, and nothing is uploaded. Pages are made into a PDF in your browser.
