About the Dinosaur Coloring Pages

Dinosaurs are a sure hit in PreK through grade 2, and this set keeps them friendly rather than fierce. There is a T. Rex, a Triceratops with its three horns, a Spinosaurus with its tall sail, an armored Ankylosaurus with a club tail, a Pterodactyl flying over the page and a Baby Dinosaur hatching from a cracked egg, all with big simple spaces for young colorers. The Stegosaurus, the Long-Neck Dinosaur and the Parasaurolophus by its pond are more detailed, with a little prehistoric scenery, and the Dinosaur Fossil page shows bones and a footprint buried in layers of rock, ready for a lesson on how scientists dig them up. Every picture was drawn for this site, so you can print as many copies as your class needs.

Ways to use dinosaur coloring pages

  • A dinosaur unit

Print the Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Long-Neck Dinosaur 2 to a page and have students label the horns, plates and long neck after coloring.

  • Color by number warm-up

Turn on Color by number for the T. Rex. Students match each number to the color key at the bottom, which practices number and color-word reading.

  • Story starter

Give each student the Baby Dinosaur. After coloring, they write or tell what happens when it climbs out of the egg.

  • Choosing time on the board

Press Color on the Board and let students take turns picking a color and tapping a space on the dinosaur everyone voted for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which dinosaur pages are best for preschool?

Use the Simple filter: the T. Rex, Triceratops, Spinosaurus, Pterodactyl and Baby Dinosaur have the biggest spaces. Choose Bold under Line thickness so crayon marks that go over the edge still look neat.

Can I print all the dinosaurs at once?

Yes. Turn on Print several at once, tap each dinosaur, and download one PDF. Choose 4 Pictures per page for small cards or 1 for a full page each.
